We found a house we liked. It's a nice corner lot, pretty good shape house, and has all our must haves (washer/dryer hookups, yard, off street parking). It even has a few extras like Central Air. It is in Dracut which is farther than we planned on being, but still within 30 minutes or so of Nick's job.
So then the fun began. We put in an offer. They countered within an hour. We countered back. We waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, we heard back about 24 hours later. They hadn't budged. We countered again. And waited. And waited. And waited. Finally 48 hours later we heard back. We decided to accept.
So we go in to the office to sign the paperwork. And at that time the listing agent says: By the way there's no heat in this house. WHAT?!?!? ( The listing agent didn't know this either). Apparently the furnace went out, and the seller was told it wasn't worth replacing. Well that's fine, but at least mention it BEFORE we come to an agreement. Oh, and by the way the house has no septic, and isn't connected to the town sewer. Luckily, they were already planning on connecting it, but that wasn't told to us until today either.
So now we find out what the home inspector finds wrong with it. Stay tuned....

No heat? Um. You need heat. Heat is good. Good luck with the inspection!
