What are we up to?

Well, I'm so glad you asked!
**We have been bugging friends to write letters of recommendation (thank you so so much those that said yes! We greatly appreciate it!)
**We have been finishing the nursery. And yet it still has paint cans in it...
**We have been planning our trip/vacation to Utah. We are driving out. Yes, Driving. After taking into consideration the unknowns (actual birth date, Interstate Compact, airline rules regarding infant travel, what to do with the dog) we decided driving will be easiest. And, hey, if nothing else, we'll have a grand story to tell right?
**We have been finding places to stop on our drive. While this does fall into the above, it also involves checking out Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. After all, if we are going to drive across the country (well, almost) we might as well hit a couple of highly recommended places! (Speaking of which, we are taking 80 over, and 70 back, so if you have suggestions, we are open to them.)
**We have been working. A necessary evil.
**We have been getting excited. Very excited!!!!
**We had the actual home study part of the adoption process. Which was easy, and a lot less intimidating than I expected it to be.

The Good Old Hockey Game

What a great way to celebrate the New Year! Nick and I were given tickets to go see the Legends Game at Fenway Park. It was great to see some of the Bruins greats and celebrities playing at the great Fenway Park. It was cold. We were freezing our butts off! We had an amazing time though! It was snowing so hard, that they had to pause the game in order to shovel off the ice. The announcers were funny, and the players even got into a few fights, which is the first time at a Legends game.
I don't know if you can see the custom helmet on Bobby Farrelly, but the cans actually saved a goal! The puck bounced off the can and there was a loud clang!

And I got to see Cam Neely score a goal!

My Brother the Missionary

So, my brother is in the Missionary Training Center. And while there he has:

-Been a no (day) companion missionary (which means he walks slightly in front of the two sister missionaries learning French with him)
-Been isolated for swine flu (which turned out to be regular flu)
-Learned French
-Gone through 8 companions
-Met Sister Smart and listened to her play the harp
-Found the pillow room
-Learned to climb the walls
-Had his leave the MTC date changed (which turned out to be a good thing because...)
- He got a concussion and...
-Went to the Hospital to have his appendix out

Man, my brother can't make anything easy!

He is now scheduled to leave the MTC in the middle of January. But hey, at least he will have great MTC stories eh?
